SET Ixworth school is a small high school set in the picturesque Suffolk countryside. We are over-subscribed and will have around 600 pupils in the school by September 2024.
The school enjoys a positive reputation in the community, as evidenced by the high demand for Year 7 places in September 2024. The students demonstrate respect, motivation and very good behaviour in their learning.
The school`s vision is to provide an education system that truly serves those it educates by always reflecting on and addressing individual needs, strengths, and interests. There is a Specialist Resource Base on site for around 12 pupils, supporting pupils with Communication and Interaction needs.
The school is currently a ‘Good’ school according to Ofsted, with an inspection from September 2019.
The Role
- Cover the absence of teachers by supervising and supporting classes of students whilst they carry out pre-set activities. These classes may be in any subject area and/or age range.
- Work under the instruction and guidance of the teacher(s) for whom cover is being provided to ensure that students continue to make the maximum possible progress in the absence of their teacher.
- Assist the Office Manager in arranging for work and resources left by staff taking planned absences or sent in by staff taking unplanned absences to be printed, copied and placed in the right classroom to ensure cover runs smoothly during the day.
