We currently have an opportunity to join East Suffolk Council`s Building Control Team as a Building Control Team Leader.
This is an exciting time to join East Suffolk Building Control, together the team have supported each other in becoming one of the most qualified teams in the Region.
This role will report to the Building Control Partnership Manager, who has responsibility for the Building Control services at East Suffolk Council and partnering organisations. As Team Leader, you will have the autonomy to run the day to day operation of your team to meet the statutory obligations with regard to the Building Regulations and allied legislation, as well as the recruitment, development, facilitation of CPD, performance management and support of your direct reports.
You will provide direction and support to the team on the effective implementation of constantly changing legislation, promotion of public awareness to ensure consistency of interpretation and application of regulations, as well as acting as a professional adviser on all Building Control matters to other colleagues in the wider Planning services, other service areas or other public/voluntary bodies.
You will be a full member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or Association of Building Engineers (CABE), with considerable experience working in a building control area with evidence of a high level of performance. You will need to be a good communicator, well organised, have excellent written, numerical and analytical skills and sound IT abilities.
This role represents an excellent opportunity for someone who currently works within the Building Control profession and has solid field-based experience and managerial aspirations or experience.
