The New Porgera Limited (NPL) now has a vacancy for qualified and experienced individuals in the following position of Specialist - Long Term Planning. Reporting to the section superintendent, the incumbent will be responsible for developing and implementing long-term maintenance strategies to ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of mobile equipment at NPL. This role requires a strategic thinker with extensive experience in maintenance planning, execution, and continuous improvement.

 

The ideal candidate must have:

• Bachelor`s degree in mechanical engineering, Maintenance Management, or a related field
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in maintenance planning, preferably in the mining industry
• Proficiency in maintenance management software and tools
• Proficient in using maintenance management software (e.g. SAP, Oracle, etc) and Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strategic thinker with technical expertise, project management and leadership skills and appetite for continuous improvement 
• Prior industry recognized safety training highly desirable
• Current PNG Class 1 or 6 Driver`s license with ability to acquire a Site LV Driving Permit.
• Prepared to work to flexible company roster and to varied working hours as required to accomplish the company’s goals and objectives

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement long-term maintenance plans for mobile equipment
• Align maintenance strategies with overall business objectives and operational goals
• Coordinate with various departments to schedule maintenance activities
• Ensure that maintenance schedules are optimized to minimize downtime and maximize equipment availability
• Monitor the performance and reliability of mobile equipment
• Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance processes and practice
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the maintenance team
• Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination
• Provide regular updates and reports to senior management
• Maintain a high level of health, safety and environmental awareness and comply with all relevant PJV policies & Procedures.

 

Mobilization Requirement 

• This position is open to PNG Nationals
• The roster is 28 days on and 14 days off
• Adhere to Covid19 Protocols 
• Must Have an up-to-date Police clearance Certificate (acquired within the last 6 months)
