We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity for you to take your kdb software engineering career to the next level building cloud kdb platform and curate products for the business datasets.

As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate & Investment Bank Markets Technology Team, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading cloud and kdb technology platforms and products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job responsibilities

• Write Q code, develop and maintain platform and applications using KDB
• Implement cloud platform solutions and new technology frameworks for KDB applications
• Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
• Analyse, design and implement solutions for regular business enhancement requests and collaboration with global peers
• Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
• Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies
• Communicate with global stakeholders, handle regular user queries and L3 production support requests
• Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and proficient applied experience
• Experience in the end to end development in the financial sector.
• Experience in KDB+ including experience of writing Q code, optimization and troubleshooting.
• Proven track record with KDB, design patterns, troubleshooting, optimization.
• Demonstrated ability in managing real-time application for high-stakes financial operations.
• Proficiency in dynamic teamwork, and goal oriented environments
• Organizational skills to be able to juggle multiple responsibilities while maintaining focus

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Qualifications regarding cloud environments, products and deployments
• Experience with cloud-native / modern KDB architectures (e.g. service mesh, grid compute)
• Experience with geographically distributed teams
• Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
• Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
