Senior Manager of Software Engineering - Java, AWS
You would play a key part in application modernization on their successful Equities systems (Derivatives, Exotics, Exchange Listed products). You will be responsible for design, development, implementation and support of the platform. A key part of the function is an ability to work closely with other teams in partnership - this will be critical to the success of this role.
As a Senior Manager of Software Engineering with the Corporate & Investment Banking`s Equities Trade Management Tech team, you serve in a leadership role by providing technical coaching and advisory for multiple global technical teams, as well as anticipate the needs and potential dependencies of other functions within the firm. As an expert in your field, your insights influence budget and technical considerations to advance operational efficiencies and functionalities
You will be required to work directly with business partners in the Prime and Equities organization including Product Development, Front Office, Middle Office Operations, Finance, Legal and other JPMorgan functional areas to deliver competitive, efficient, and scalable product solutions.
Job Responsibilities :
- Provide overall direction, oversight, and coaching for a team of entry-level to mid-level software engineers that work on basic to moderately complex tasks
- Accountable for decisions that influence teams’ resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures
- Ensure successful collaboration across teams and stakeholders
- Identify and mitigate issues to execute a book of work while escalating issues as necessary
- Provide input to leadership regarding budget, approach, and technical considerations to improve operational efficiencies and functionality for the team
- Create a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect for team members and prioritizes diverse representation
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills :
- Formal training, or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience . In addition, 2 + years of experience leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise
- Deep knowledge of and experience Equities Derivatives Business
- Hands on with writing code and strong knowledge of Core Java programming (v8/v11), Spring Boot/Spring framework and critical functions like messaging, data-access, web-services etc.
- Worked with Kubernetes/Cloud Foundry platforms to build applications and proven design experience in building scalable applications and services
- Good knowledge of modern messaging platforms (Kafka).
- Proficient at Linux and shell scripting/python
- Object oriented design and programming as well being at least familiar with design patterns with a pre-requisite.
- Good understanding of full software life cycle development processes including Agile processes.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills :
- Familiarity with other market access products and/or cash prime brokerage in multiple markets is desirable;
